We chose one of the worst wet days this year to walk to the The Knights Table in Stainforth. So, two bedraggled characters walk in to the spotlessly clean restaurant... read more and we immediately asked the waitress if she wanted us to remove our boots? Surprisingly she said it was ok to keep them on and we piled our soaked gear on the floor to keep the stuff away from the seats.
We ordered a hot honey crispy chicken and a thai fish stew along with two glasses of a very reasonably priced Pinot Grigio. Both dishes were superb.
I hadn't realised that the fish stew came in two sizes with the large portion having the addition of rice. I chose the smaller portion which turned out to be more than adequate with a generous amount of prawns, haddock and salmon cooked a delicate but full of flavour broth. I thought the fact that this lovely dish was charged at only £9.95 was a bargain!
We are so looking forward to a return visit and will also consider attending some of their themed nights.

Absolutely excellent meal, cooked beautifully, served by a lovely waitress.
We were so happy to see a Christmas lunch menu. Reasonably priced, £23 for 2 courses.
Everything cooked... read more to perfection.
A lovely selection of starters.
Thickly sliced turkey & a huge selection of roast potatoes, mashed & vegetables. Unfortunately we couldn’t take advantage of the sweets, so only had two courses.
The atmosphere is very warm & comfortable.
Well worth the two miles drive from the main road.
This restaurant is a delight to visit & enjoy a fabulously cooked meal, at a reasonable price.

"We were recommended to go here by friends and it didn't disappoint. On a cold wet blustery evening it turned out to be a delight, a bright, airy and warm room greeted us with friendly staff to welcome us in. The service was excellent and the food superb. In my case the rarebit and a perfectly cooked steak were the highlights but everyone in our group were also very happy with their meals. We will definitely be returning."
